21 Jump Street

I probably don't want to admit how many times I laughed at the new red band trailer for 21 Jump Street.  So I won't.

This Has To Happen

Before it gets yanked again, check out Jesse Pinkman dropping by Dunder Mifflin. Love it.

I Love Random Stuff

The Under Underground series is always good on Saturday Night Live. Holy crap - this one had me on the floor crying. Literally!

Between this and some kickass Eminem performances, this is shaping up to be a good episode!

Unstoppable

I thought I had seen every action movie setup known to man. There was even that one movie where the refrigerated truck had to stay cold, wasn't there? But here's a new one: a runaway train. I'd love to say Unstoppable was about more than a runaway train, but... it really wasn't.

Don't get me wrong, I actually loved this movie. Like, really enjoyed it for what it was. But that's not to say I wasn't laughing half the time. Sometimes it felt like a big joke Tony Scott and Denzel Washington were pulling on Hollywood. Like they didn't think anyone would actually fund it and then, when they did, they had to go through with it. But even if it were a joke, those 2 know how to make a movie. Throw in Chris Pine as the young whippersnapper and Rosario Dawson and Kevin Corrigan to make me happy and you've got the makings of a good movie.

A lot of the movie is told through news reports, and sometimes that gets annoying. It relies on the news for a lot of exposition. But then you realize that, really, that's the age we live in. News reporters would be on the scene quickly, news helicopters would be flying inches from the speeding train, and there would be computer animations of impending explosions.

Unstoppable has all of the action movie cliches, only this time with trains. This parody from Saturday Night Live is pretty dead-on. And you've gotta love it for the mindless fun.

Saturday Night Live Commercials Are Still Good

Saturday Night Live has been 90% crappy this season, but I loved the 2 fake commercials from this weekend.

I know some babies who could have used these.

And this one goes out to KP.

Oh Happy Day

A new "Between Two Ferns" with Zach Galifianakis -- starring Bruce Willis! (Some brief NSFW language)

The Boob Apron

I've never seen the real commercial for this thing that is essentially a napkin you stuff down your bra. But I love this parody! (Some NSFW language, if you're a pussy.)

Long Live Pacey

You have NO IDEA how upset I am that I missed Pacey-Con this year. Actually, you probably do have some idea. I had friends trying to make sure I didn't jump off a bridge after finding out about it.....

Very Good!

Nothing like Dora the Explorer taking on Inception - I'm sorry, Incepción. No spoilers or anything - but it's funny as hell.

I Love Sushi

And I've gotta say, the peaches are my favorite part! (Embedding disabled because Adult Swim is lame, but follow the link. Then do yourself a favor and watch some other Dr. Steve Brule videos while you're there.)

Conan: Live!

I saw Conan O'Brien's Legally Prohibited From Being Funny on Television tour this past Sunday in Atlantic City, NJ. I went to the 11:35 PM show, which I thought was extra nerdy-cool because of it being his old time slot. The show was great. He was hilarious and he rocked hard. I had been in the audience of his old show in NYC once and he had brought out the acoustic guitar beforehand, so I knew he loved to play. But this time he was rocking it. And you could tell he was having a blast.

Since this was a casino show, some of the very first rows were empty - reserved for comps for gamblers. Very early on, he invited the audience to move forward - knowing the fans should have those seats, not some random gambling douchebags. He also came out into the crowd at the end, running right down the middle, high-fiving and hugging people.

His band was all there too (except for Max) and they ruled. It was a really high-energy show. Andy came out too, and there were a couple recorded segments. We even got the Walker: Texas Ranger Lever, though it was re-named due to NBC possibly owning the rights to it. The whole show was awesome -- I laughed my ass off.

Conan was so great. He seemed to be doing what he loves, but still had that edge of bitterness that someone in his position is bound to have. Can't wait til he starts up his TBS show in the Fall.

Rose Nylund Pwns

Betty White hosted Saturday Night Live and it was probably the best of the season. If you go to Hulu, they have a few unaired sketches that are good too. Imagine that - there was actually too much good stuff on SNL!

The MacGruber sketches were their usual awesome.

God bless you, Betty White!

More Between Two Ferns

Yay! I may have had 210 items in my Google Reader tonight, but at least there was one good one. All worth it.

Yay For More Sketch Comedy

Wow, Will Ferrell has certainly made something of his little website, hasn't he?

(NSFW language. From a kid. Which is always comedy gold.)

Go Here Immediately

MacGruber actually looks good! Not only that, the villain's name is Von Cunth. I can 100% get behind the movie for that reason alone.
