Comic-Con 2008: Thursday Evening

We completed our Thursday with a panel by Dark Castle Studios. They look to be making lots of B-horror movies and ninja films. This dude Rain was there for a movie. If you watch The Colbert Report you might know him because they have a rivalry going. He's a huge Korean pop star or something. All I know is he doesn't speak much English, and the English he speaks involves "girls", "see my movie", and "I am the best." I like this kid.

The real cool panel was for RocknRolla. Directed by Guy Ritchie, starring Gerard Butler (hotness!), Jeremy Piven (hate!), Ludacris (cool!), and Idris Elba (The Wire bitches!). The guys were really funny. "Gerry" was hysterical, and maybe a little drunk.

A chick got up to ask a question and she was dressed in a blue queen outfit, complete with blue hair. He looked over and muttered, "You're fuckin' weird." But he said it smiling and she didn't seem to care. He was throwing Hershey's Kisses into the audience for some reason, and said, "It's getting a bit like Sea World in here." LOL Gerry.

He said, "doin' it" at one point and grimaced: "I've turned into an American. 'Doin' it.' I hate myself."

The movie seems very very cool, in the vein of Guy's first movies. According to Gerry, "It's better than sex. But not with me. It's better than sex with Idris." I'm sorry, this dude was just cracking me up and I kept writing down his quotes. A chick asked him what genre he would do next. Answer: "Halle Berry."

Piven was pretty funny too, not just the douche he usually is.

Guy is next directing a Sherlock Holmes movie starring Robert Downey, Jr. It was described as "James Bond in 1891" - it's going to be an action movie.

When asked about the best experience making this movie, Gerry said it was when Madonna gave him a B12 shot in the arse in a car. It didn't work - he got sicker - but he appreciated the effort.

So clearly I was enamored with Gerard Butler.

My evening was completed with a trip to Pinkberry. My California culinary adventure is complete.

Comic-Con 2008: Thursday

We got in line at 8:00 this morning and it was already wrapped around the Convention Center. (First Hall H presentation at 11:30, doors opened at 9:45.) We were probably 1/4 of the way back in the 6,500 seat hall, decent seats. It seemed most people were in line for the Twilight presentation at 1:00. I don't know much about those books/movie, other than people either passionately love them or passionately hate them. And their fans wear homemade t-shirts. I've never seen so many homemade t-shirts - we're talking puffy paint and magic marker all over the place. Team Edward, quotes from the books, I have no idea what's going on. I feel so old and out of touch with Twilight. That might be a good thing.

Presentations:

The Day the Earth Stood Still - A scruffy Keanu Reeves and hot Jennifer Connelly. Keanu was really cool and introduced everyone on the panel. They showed some cool clips, it looks good. I'll wait for the reviews.

Max Payne - Mark Wahlberg, hot as S Mila Kunis, Ludacris. The movie looks like gun porn, pure and simple. Hot-ass gun porn. Mark was really funny. Everyone was "woo-ing" when he would start to talk, and he compared it to doing a concert in Japan. He also said, "Now I know why New Kids wanted to go back." Perhaps we'll get a Funky Bunch reunion? He also said it made him "warm in the pants." That movie looks good - biceps, violence, gun porn. That's all I need.

Then there was a special guest - Hugh Mother-loving Jackman!!! I was surprised when Wolverine wasn't on the schedule, but it was today's Big Surprise. He was soooooo hot. He was also really cool. He said he had just gotten off the plane and they just finished filming, but he wanted to make sure he was able to bring something to Comic-Con. Also, he gave the creator of Wolverine in the comic a shout-out -- and then proceeded to go down into the crowd so that he could shake the guy's hand. He said he always wanted to meet him and thank him, and that was just so frakking cool that he did that!! Fanboys eat that S up.

They showed a trailer for it. HOLYSHITOHMYGOD I had goosebumps the whole time. The whole time. It is going to be AWESOME! Gambit and Deadpool got huge reactions.

Push - Chris Evans, Dakota Fanning, Djimon Hounsou, Camilla Belle. The movie is about people with abilities (telekinesis, forcing memories into people's heads, predicting the future, etc.) because of government experiments. Most important part: Chris Evans. He's funny and hawt. I knew nothing about the movie going in, but it looked pretty cool. I'll see it. Dakota was stuck in traffic, but came out by herself at the end of all the other presentations just so she could say hi. So cute. And she's not all awkward-looking and deformed like Houman and I thought she would be by now.

Twilight - Director Catherine Hardwicke, author Stephenie Meyer, and the cast - Robert Pattinson (Edward), Kristen Stewart (Bella), Cam Gigandet (James), Rachelle LaFevre (Victoria), Edi Gathegi (Laurant), and Taylor Lautner (Jacob). There was much squeeing every time Twilight was mentioned. I seriously had to cover my ears. It was awesome. The squeeing at Comic-Con is usually of the more masculine variety. The whole time Mike just kept saying, "What is going on?"

After that the hall totally emptied out - so many girls (and their squeeing moms) came just for that!

We're waiting for the RocknRolla presentation right now - Gerard Butler and Guy Ritchie.

Comic-Con 2008: Preview Night

Hey, I actually did stuff today! Like, cultural, outdoors, walking stuff!

We went to Balboa Park and the Air & Space Museum (with a Star Trek exhibit), the Japanese Gardens, and the USS Midway aircraft carrier. And, most importantly, In-N-Out Burger.

I waited in a line for 90 minutes to get my new BFF Andy stuff - I AM AN AWESOME FRIEND, AREN'T I ANDY?? Anyway, I totally got you 2 Lightning McQueens. As for the other stuff - we got to the Hasbro line at 6:15 (doors opened at 6, we were in line at 5) and the line was already closed. So sadly there will be nothing other than those cars, but I am so happy I could get them for you.

While I waited in line, Mike went to the Star Trek booth and totally got ALL FOUR posters. He rocks.

We got all kinds of crap at the NBC booth, including a Nerd Herd shirt that I am butt-exited to wear!

First Night in San Diego

We went to dinner last night with Mike's gorgeous cousin, Elma, and her handsome boyfriend, Tony. I just had to post this picture because - how gorgeous do we look? Honestly?

Anyway, dinner was great (oxtail ravioli!), and it was so much fun. I am freaking in love with San Diego too. Weather is a perfect 72 degrees, the Gaslamp District is gorgeous. I'm in love!

Today we're planning to go to the Wildlife Park and Balboa Park - and In-N-Out Burger - before the fun starts tonight.

R.I.P. Sophia Petrillo

I was greeted with this sad news when I got off of the airplane. The Golden Girls is one of my all-time favorite shows and I'm not ashamed to admit it!

Former Golden Girls star Estelle Getty has died at the age of 84, just three days shy of her 85th birthday.

Getty had been suffering for years with Lewy Body Dementia.

Holy Dickwad, Batman

Cops allowed Christian Bale to attend the biggest film premiere of the summer last night — despite him being accused of assault.

Bale, 34, faces questioning over the claim — made by his own mother and sister. He is alleged to have lashed out on Sunday night at Park Lane’s Dorchester Hotel — where he has a suite.

Mum Jenny, 61, and sister Sharon, 40, who live in Dorset, went to a police station in Hampshire yesterday to lodge the allegation. The matter was referred to the Met Police.

Detectives, well aware of last night’s glittering bash, took the decision not to approach Bale yesterday. But they are expected to make attempts to quiz the Wales-born actor today.

What kind of a dickwad beats up his mom and sister? Oh, wait - this story was about Christian Bale? The Christian Bale? The hot guy who plays Batman? Nevermind, then. He's allowed. Beating up old women doesn't make me love him any less. It takes a real man to pull that crap.

Is This Funny?

Maybe it's just me, stuck at an airport because my flight was canceled, running on 4 hours of sleep, but I laughed my ass off!!!

Boring Monday; Bye-Bye

Is it just me or is this the Dullest Monday Ever? Nothing's happening. I feel bad not posting anything, but NOTHING is going on.

I head out to San Diego for Comic-Con dark-and-early tomorrow morning! I will hopefully we able to blog from the Con (free wi-fi brought to you by the lovely people who made Eagle Eye). I'M SO EXCITED!!

I have a shopping list for a certain faithful reader. Planned panels include: Fringe, Max Payne, Watchmen, 24, Heroes, Lost, Terminator: Salvation, MythBusters, and many more.

In my absence, my Assistant to the Editor will be posting... oh, right... nevermind. He doesn't remember how. And also he's currently being held in Israel. That's not a joke. Well, I mean, I hope they've let him go by now. They didn't call me to ask to vouch for him.

BBX: Nominations

Jessie is so much more than just an ugly meathead. He is also a flaming douchebag. "Who wants to see my steroid-laced HoH room?" FOR THE LOVE OF GOD WEAR A SHIRT! He could totes beat everyone at chess, y'all!

Nothing else happened. I really hate competitions, especially lame food competitions.

Nominated: Steve and Dan.

God I love hate this show.

19 July 2008

It's Not Horrible

OMG, I love Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. Click here to watch - it's only available through Sunday.

At first I was trying to be all cynical about it, saying I wouldn't watch it because it was the "cool" (among us internet geeks) thing to do. But what do you know, we were bored a couple days ago and we gave in. And it is awesome.

Neil Patrick Harris is hysterical, the songs are catchy and good, it's really just lovely and fun. Good times, Joss Whedon!

18 July 2008

Duh

Of course The Dark Knight is as good as everyone thought it would be!

We saw it on IMAX this afternoon and it was fabulous. As good as Heath Ledger is, I swear Aaron Eckhart stole the movie. And Gary Oldman is awesome. The whole freaking thing is awesomeness personified.

Houman says: "It was so touching, I almost cried when Batman died at the end. Oops, am I supposed to say Spoiler Alert first?"

Mike says: "Heath Ledger deserves an Oscar. All other action movies are tainted for me."

Of course Mike used the word "taint".

You Watches the Watchmen

I think Empire's site is finally a little less overwhelmed today. So you can see a high-quality version of the Watchmen trailer here.

Because Dr. Manhattan (that would be the 8-foot-tall, blue, naked dude) must be seen in high quality.

At Least It's Something

No trailer, but it's a poster. An honest to God poster which means it's really going to come out... eventually!

SYTYCD Results

They opened with a group Bollywood number. LOVELY! Then we got a girls group performance (an awesome-as-always Mia Michaels routine) and a guys group performance (choreographed by Nigel, WTF? It was good!). The more group performances the better, that's my motto.

Bottom 2 Girls: Comfort and Kherington. Of course.

Bottom 3 Guys: Mark and Gev. That sounds right. I love Gev, but now it gets hard because I love all the other guys. Gev's solo was AMAZING!

Good-bye: Kherington and GEV!!!

O! M! G! I am SOOOOOOOOOOOO bitter over this. He's so awesome!!!! And Mark totally needed to go!!!!

I will miss his awesome solos. SADNESS PEOPLE FOR REALS!!!

Big Brother 10

I hate Brian and Dan acting holier-than-thou and being pissed because Ollie "sold them out." It was really Brian who wouldn't stop running his mouth about how he was running things. He screwed himself.

Another enthralling episode: sock puppet theater. OMG they think they are so much funnier than they are. LULZ....

Blonde Bimbo Drama!! Tears and yelling and near-fighting. Yay!

Evicted: Brian. 9 to 1. LOL. The Racist Sock Puppet Strategy didn't work. Houman's sitting next to me watching and he totally called that. I was surprised more people didn't side with Brian. But then again I'm not the BBX expert that he is.

Head of Household: Jessie.

Project Runway Is Back, Bitches!

It was fun picking out "the quirky ones", "the urban ones", and "the straight one". As ever, there are far too many designers at the beginning to keep track of. I liked Jennifer's portfolio, and I like Terri, Kelli, and Kenley (she's so hot and I love her style and I'm in LOVE with her!!). I don't like Suede because of his name and usage of the word "whackadoodle". And Blayne because of his name and perma-tan and general grossness.

Challenge: grocery store!! A Project Runway classic! Too many tablecloths all around; that's the easy way out and they shouldn't let people get them. Tim Gunn gives all the tablecloth users a complex, so they all just start adding things to their clothes - and that's always a mistake!

Guest Judge: The FABULOUS Austin from Season 1!

Blayne's was a HOT MESS!! Stella's was literally some garbage bags hanging from her model. And Jerry's was a freaking raincoat made out of a shower curtain, how unoriginal. Michael Kors called it a "bridal nurse" LOL.

Winner: Kelli. Yay!

Good-bye: Jerry. We hardly knew ye. I felt like he had some potential, and was a good guy, but he just sucked at this challenge. And of course they ended up keeping the "whackier" personalities.

SYTYCD Performances

1. Courtney and Joshua - Hip Hop. Awesome choreography, great job by Joshua OF COURSE. She wasn't half bad.

2. Kherington and Mark - Two-Step. Ew, country. It didn't flow well at all, wasn't smooth, and they didn't partner well either. I totally expected that - they're both pretty boring and have gotten through based on their old partners.

3. Comfort and Twitch - Waltz. They didn't seem to partner too well. The choreography was a bit boring. But that lift at the end was HOLY CRAP! It was a "gumbo of emotions" according to Lil C. Judges hated it.

4. Katee and Will - Broadway. Lucky girl goes from Joshua to Will. It was good stuff, and of course Will pulled his shirt open at the end. This show knows where its bread is buttered.

5. Chelsie and Gev - Contemporary. Very cool routine, and they were excellent!

6. Courtney and Joshua - Rumba. Hot, with lots of difficulty. I think Courtney is the show whore - everyone she partners with, I think she's banging. She's hot.

7. Kherington and Mark - Jazz. They were fine, but they're boring. They danced to "Canned Heat" which of course just reminds you of Napoleon Dynamite now. I was waiting for some sweet moves.

8. Comfort and Twitch - Hip Hop! Oh S son this HAS to be good!! And it was! They really did seem like they were competing with each other, trying to outdo one another and that made it great. Since it's up to the viewers to vote now, she might be safe.

9. Katee and Will - Pas de Deux. That's a new one. I didn't really get the dance. But Will was shirtless again. I got that. It definitely looked tough and they're both so good technically, so it was good.

10. Chelsie and Gev - Jive. It was so awesome! Gev is really, really good. I think he bangs all his partners too.

Going in to the night, I would have thought Comfort would be gone for sure, but since she did a great hip hop routine, I think people might vote for her. Kherington and Mark probably deserve to go home most.

Terminator Trailer: Get It While You Can

Here's the teaser trailer for Terminator: Salvation. It's the perfect teaser trailer!!!

But here's the problem I'm having: they just started filming this movie and they already have so much to show. WHERE IS MY STAR TREK TRAILER!!!!????? OMG, they've been done filming that forever!!! It must suck so badly if they have nothing to show yet!

B&C Mugshot of the Week

Andy Dick was arrested early Tuesday outside a fast-food restaurant in Murrieta, CA, for investigation of drug possession and misdemeanor sexual battery, according to police.

The 42-year-old comedian was arrested around 2 a.m. in a parking lot by the Buffalo Wild Wings in the Riverside County city, 60 miles southeast of Los Angeles.

Great Mugshot! Nope, he doesn't look guilty of anything, not at all.

Big Brother 10

Did I really just watch a show where a 40-something chick and a meathead guy are fighting for days over her waking him up? BORING!

FF through Veto Competition, blah blah blah. Jessie won so he's off the block.

LOL that Brian thinks he runs the house - that's always sure to backfire. Sure enough, the girls and Ollie all band together (everyone else in the house, really) to ask Jerry to backdoor Brian instead. They all freaking pounced on Jerry at once, that was funny.

I like Ollie. No, I LOVE Ollie.

Alright, Big Brother - you got me. It was boring in the beginning, but I do love me some game play. And I love when people are uber-confident that they're safe and they're not. Bonus!

Nominated: Brian. HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Honor Is Awful Cute

Awwww... look at all that hair.

Here's the problem: I looked like that as a baby. Honor has a long, sad road ahead of her, my friends.

They Are Trying To Kill Me

They are trying to kill me with Mohinder and Maya kissing. And then they try to make it better with some Sylar-strolling-through-a-neighborhood-and-TKing people action. Which, well, that does make it better.

Sad Horns

Jimmy Kimmel and his girlfriend of five years, comedienne Sarah Silverman, have broken up.

Kimmel’s rep Lewis Kay and Silverman’s rep Amy Zvi both confirmed that Jimmy and Sarah are no longer dating and issued a joint statement that “Jimmy and Sarah have and will have no further comment.”

Aww, shucks. I liked them too. Does no one stay together??

I'm Totally Sleeping On This

I did NOT realize that Project Runway comes back this Wednesday! I literally found out yesterday.

Now I have a reason to live!!

Breaking Dance News

Announced at the FOX Press Tour, courtesy EW.com:

So You Think You Can Dance contestant Jessica King has suffered an injury and has been replaced by the recently eliminated Comfort Fedoke. Executive producer Nigel Lythgoe refuses to elaborate on the specifics of King's injury, saying only that she'll be out for "four to five weeks."

Big Brother 10: To Watch Or Not To Watch

I haven't decided if I'm going to watch the new Big Brother or not. I just watched last night's premiere. I always feel the same way about this show - hate it to death, can't look away.

Did Julie say it was the most diverse Big Brother cast ever? Why? Cuz there's one 75-year-old geezer and a gay rodeo dude and two whole black people? Looks like the usual bunch of butter-faced muscle-head guys and butter-faced chicks with huge boobs to me. Is there literally a Hooters waitress every year?

They've already corrupted the old guy, Jerry, making him grab some tit. Ten bucks says Ollie will be drinking before he leaves the house....

I fast-forwarded through the competition, did I miss anything important? Doubt it.

Head of Household: Jerry was chosen when they all voted just based on appearances. Duh. Of course they picked the old dude.

There was some early game play, as the pasty whitebread boys banded together, and allowed Ollie in as well.

I love how much Renny bothers Jessie and the other guys.

Nominated for Eviction: Renny and Jessie. Damn. I want them to bother each other for a while longer; at least the anxiety of being nominated should bring some drama from them.

Double the Sexy Babies

*SIGH*
Brad Pitt was at Angelina Jolie's side as she gave birth to a son and daughter Saturday at the Fondation Lenval hospital in Nice, France, PEOPLE has confirmed.

Jolie gave birth to a boy, Knox Leon, and a girl, Vivienne Marcheline, by Cesarean section on Saturday night. Knox weighed 5.03 lbs, and Vivienne 5 lbs.

The twins are the fifth and sixth children for Jolie, 33, and partner Brad Pitt, 44, who are already parents to Maddox, 6; Pax, 4; Zahara, 3; and Shiloh, 2.

SQUEE

Look, I don't want to post/read spoilers, but with Heroes you never know - alternate timelines abound.

I'm currently in the midst of a freak-out over this picture. Will Sylar work with Bennet? Will he always wear that awesome suit? Will I pass out and die before the show even airs?

IS IT SEPTEMBER YET?

More pics here at the source.

Hellboy II Isn't Hellish

I ain't gonna front. Even my geeky mind can't deal with the first Hellboy. We watched it again last night and I was still all WTF is the point. I just didn't get the tone, I didn't like the historical stuff, I was confused.

Hellboy II, however, I definitely liked more. There is still something about the tone that throws me off, but I laughed at this one a lot more, and liked Hellboy a lot more. The special effects and creatures are out-of-this-world amazing. Really. At a few points I had to remind myself that it was fake, everything seemed very real. They got real professionals to work on this film - kudos!!

So if you like Hellboy it's definitely worth the viewing.

NOW CAN WE JUST HAVE FRIDAY ALREADY SO I CAN GO SEE THE DARK KNIGHT ON IMAX! PLZKTHX!

Very cool Tabitha & Napoleon routine to open the show. I heart Tabitha & Napoleon. And not just because they make a beautiful couple. But mostly.

Bottom Three:
Comfort and Thayne. Like duh.
Jessica and Will. Oy. They'll be OK in their solos. At least Will will be, and he's all I care about. He could just take a dump on the stage during his solo and he'd be safe.
Kherington and Twitch. They'll be fine too.

No-brainer this week for sure. In fact, even before the solos the judges pretty much decided. They were like, "You should be fine this week" - to everyone but Comfort and Thayne.

Will took his shirt off and did the MOST AMAZING SOLO EVER! God I love him. Then Twitch came out and did the SECOND MOST AMAZING SOLO EVER!

Going home: Comfort and Thayne. LIKE DUH! No drama there. If they had sent Will home over Thayne the world would have imploded.

Next week things get tough!!!

Tonya's Back Bitches!

So now it's Real World/Road Rules Challenge Meets Survivor?? Whatever, it's all good. But... wha? FALL? FALL???

Why Are You Here?

Because I'm not here to make friends!

SYTYCD Performances: Double the Fun

Cat's hair looks like she just got out of the shower and she's wearing a dish rag. This is a chick who usually has wild hairstyles and dresses, so WTF?

Also, I just figured out that the judges must be drinking before the show. Especially Mary. But tonight they are all wasted.

1. Chelsie and Mark, Salsa. Not thrilling, just really good. She's a ballroom dancer so of course it was good. I do like Chelsie. Mia Michaels wants to stab her because she's so cute. LOL, Mia.

2. Comfort and Thayne, Hip Hop. She was good. He was... ugh. Tall, skinny white boy who couldn't wipe the smile off of his face. They didn't partner well.

3. Jessica and Will, Contemporary. Jesus Lord, I was distracted by Will's body. Guh. Could he BE wearing any less clothes? Could he be any more sculpted? It looked like a super-hard routine and they were great.

4. Courtney and Gev, Cha Cha. They are so good together, even with him wearing that nasty skinny-pale-chest-bearing shirt. Love them both! Can he get some sun?

5. Twitch and Kherington, Crump. Hells yes crump!! Oh S son, that was off the hook. Twitch was amazing - of course!!! But she was good too. The faces he was making were fabulous. Fabulously crumpy!! He was off the chain though, I want to see him do a whole crump routine by himself. (It did kind of fall apart at the end, but I'll pretend that didn't exist.)

6. Katee and Joshua, Viennese Waltz. HOLY CRAP unbelievable!!! They were SO good. They partner so well together. Beautiful! (The judges said their technique wasn't perfect, but what do those alleged professionals know? I thought it was great to watch!)

7. Chelsie and Mark, Broadway. They work so well together. Awesome! Yes, I definitely like Chelsie.

8. Comfort and Thayne, Contemporary. There were a lot of really pretty moves in that choreography and I thought they were good. Are they still the worst couple? Sure. The judges were brutal. They gotta be gone tomorrow.

9. Jessica and Will, Quick Step. If anyone's up to that challenge, it's them. It was corny (I mean, it's the Quick Step, set to Barry Manilow), but really fun! What do I know about Quick Step technique? Nothing!

10. Courtney and Gev, Jazz. That was so fun and really good. They are totally doing it, right? Because they partner SO WELL! I wonder if they'll have any problems once the couples are mixed up.

11. Twitch and Kherington, Smooth Tango. Very cool routine, very good!!

12. Katee and Joshua, Bollywood. Holy crap - Bollywood! First time ever on the show! That was fun for sure!!!

What's the Opposite of Gun Porn?

So close guys. Now what you want to do is just raise the gun up a little closer... like on your temple. That's it. Now squeeze the trigger.

Having Kids Ages You

Here's a picture of Maddie Briann Aldridge, who really just looks like a lump, and her mother, Jamie Lynn Spears. Jamie Lynn is still 17, right? She looks super old here. Is her hair gray? Really, she looks like Tammy Wynette. And Tammy's been dead for 10 years.

Sexy Baby Has Decent Name

Levi Alves McConaughey. (Better than the thousand others I was thinking he would be named.) Can anyone explain this Bible verse to me? Do not get. I get Matthew's motto though: Just keep livin', man!
Explaining how they came up with the name for their baby boy, Matthew tells OK!, "Levi was another name for the apostle Matthew in The Bible. They were, in fact, two names for the same person.

"Our son was born at 6:22 pm, and this particular time represents my favorite verse in the book of Matthew in The Bible: 'If thy eye be single, thy whole body will be full of light.'"

Baby Levi's middle name is taken directly from his mother Camila's last name. "We wanted to incorporate her family name," explains the proud new father.

To all the well-wishers and fans, Matthew and Camila have also released the following statement:

"We welcome Levi Alves McConaughey into this wonderful life and look forward to living in it with him. In the mean time and all times, just keep livin'."

Sexiest Baby Born

I can't wait to find out the name. His brother named his son Miller Lyte, and I can only imagine this kid's name is going to be Canoe Peace McConaughey.
Matthew McConaughey and girlfriend of two years Camila Alves have welcomed a son Monday night, his rep Alan Nierob confirms to People. The baby – the first child for both – was born at 6:22 p.m. in Los Angeles, weighing in at 7 lbs., 4 oz.

07 July 2008

Boo Hiss

Oh no! They were the cutest couple ever!! Well, at least I have Jim and Jenny....
Drew Barrymore and Justin Long have broken up according to her rep’s confirmation to US Weekly.

The 33-year-old star from E.T. and the 30-year-old actor famous for his Apple ads, have been together for almost a year, dating back to last August.

Sunday Born a Day Late

Dammit! I kind of dig the name Sunday. Especially Sunday Rose. So cute!

This bitch was pregnant for a hot second. She never even got fat. Meanwhile, it seems like Gwen Stefani's been pregnant for a year. When is she popping?
Nicole Kidman and her husband, Keith Urban, have welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Sunday Rose Kidman Urban, born Monday morning in Nashville, People has confirmed.

"Husband Keith was by Nicole's side, and mother and baby are very well," said spokesman Paul Freundlich, who added that the couple were "delighted" to make the announcement. He also said the baby girl weighed 6 lbs., 7.5 oz.

Jim and Jenny For The Win

Yes, they are officially my new Favorite Celebrity Couple. This picture solidifies that.

How Cute is WALL-E

Very cute. Like, totally adorable, just like I knew it would be. It almost broke my heart at the end too, honestly. The only Pixar movie I don't like is Cars. This one is right up there with The Incredibles and Finding Nemo. The story's so great, I love that there isn't much dialogue, the humans are all fat and lazy, and I fell in love with this little OCD robot named MO that has to obsessively clean everything. So cute!!!

Hancock Sucks... Well, You Know

Woah. Again, the things I do for my marriage. Well that, and for the love of Jason Bateman.

This movie stinks as much as everyone is saying it does. It's maybe not a complete waste of time, but whenever something happened on screen, my response was: So what? Who cares?

Not me.

Boo.

Again, Bottom Three was as it should be.

Matt and Kourtni, who had a very good solo I thought.
Courtney and Gev, who both had great solos. Gev's was actually insane and a may zing.
Comfort and Thayne. Eh.

Kicked off: Matt. No difference between him and Thayne as far as I could tell. They both bore me. So that's fine.

And Kourtni. Well, that's a shame. I feel like she was a great dancer who never really showed it on the show. So maybe that means she sucks. Or Matt brought her down, which is more likely.

Sad horns.

So next week has to be Comfort and Thayne, right? No suspense there.

All It Takes is 20 Seconds to Get Me Excited Again

And not just because Mohinder's shirtless at the 11-second mark.

IS IT COMIC-CON YET????

SYTYCD Performances: Double the Fun

I was pissed at first cuz the show is still 2 hours long and I was all, They're just going to pad with filler this sucks! But why did I doubt my favorite show? Because instead we get TWO PERFORMANCES from each couple! Woo-hoo! I was WAY too excited about that.

1. Jessica and Will, the Jive. Why does he have to be so frakking good?! I love it. And her flip-thing over him - HOLY CRAP!

2. Comfort and Thayne, Broadway - new couple alert! Was there like no energy there, or was it just me severely disliking Thayne?

3. Kourtni and Matt, Hip hop. It was oddly slow and I didn't like that.

At this point in this show, this is me: WTF? I WAS ALL EXCITED ABOUT GETTING DOUBLE THE PERFORMANCES AND WTF? TONIGHT SUCKS! Mike keeps saying they all look tired. Maybe he's right.

4. Chelsie and Mark, Jazz. More energy, so that's good. They were great, but there was still something about it that wasn't making me jump off my sofa. You know who I need? Twitch or Joshua. NOW!

5. Twitch (whew) and Kherington, Paso Doble. How fun was that? Fun!

6. Katee and Joshua (yay) with a Mia Michaels Contemporary routine. Finally something that moved me and made me rewind!! Joshua is AMAZING. (I think Will would have done amazing things with this routine too.) His movements are just incredible, good lord. (And she was actually awesome too!)

7. Courtney and Gev, Hip Hop. It had an old-school, playful vibe. I liked, but I felt like he pulled his performance back somewhat in order for them to stay on the same level. Cuz otherwise he would have shown her up big time.

8. Jessica and Will, Lyrical Jazz. Hi Shirtless Will, nice to meet you. Dayum. That routine was HOT! So glad the shirt prop worked for them. LOVED!

9. Comfort and Thayne, Smooth Waltz. I felt like Napoleon - I'm not a waltz expert, but I enjoyed it. It was lovely; she was gorgeous. Do I think it's the kind of thing that people are going to vote for? No. They're gone this week. Sad face.

10. Kourtni and Matt, Mambo. I thought it was fun, but it was definitely a little rough in spots. Maybe they'll be the ones to go.

11. Chelsie and Mark, Foxtrot. That little girl is so good. She gets crazy extension.

12. Twitch and Kherington, Mia Michaels Contemporary. AMAZING! Yay for 2 Mia routines!

13. Katee and Joshua, West Coast Swing. Good stuff. I can't decide who I love more - Joshua or Will! And I've officially warmed up to Katee and forgiven her for crying and whining during auditions.

14. Courtney and Gev, Broadway. Gleefully corny as Broadway routines often are.

There shouldn't be any surprises tomorrow.

Party Like It's 1999!!!

From EW.com:

“After months of speculation, I think we have finally figured out for sure that we are indeed doing an Arrested Development movie," Jeffrey Tambor told EW.com at the premiere of Hellboy II on Sunday. "I am very excited about that. I love that cast and crew and I felt like we had more to say."

I'M EXCITED TOO JEFFREY!!! ECSTATIC!!!! I HAVE DOUCHECHILLS!!!

Another Show to Add to the List

Tim Roth??? On TV???? Are you joking? Of course I'll be there - HOLY CRAP!
Tim Roth is set to make his television series starring debut in Lie to Me, a one-hour from Imagine and 20th Century Fox TV that is being eyed for a bow early next year. Fox has picked up the drama to series, with a 13-episode commitment.

Roth will play Dr. Cal Lightman, a scientist who pioneered the field of deception detection. The doc is a human lie detector, skilled at reading the human face, body and voice to uncover the truth in criminal and private investigations. The fact that the character can apply the same skills to his personal life complicates his relationships. The science in the show is genuine, based on the work of Dr. Paul Ekman.

Lovely Casting News of the Week

One of the best things about the season finale of The Office was Amy Ryan. She's always so great dramatically, and I had no idea she could do comedy as well. The awkwardness between her character and Michael Scott was priceless. Actually, Michael's awkward with anyone. Anyway, she'll be back! I will miss Toby though - is he really gone for good?
The Wire star Amy Ryan will get a chance to flex her comedic muscles a bit more next season as she joins The Office for multiple episodes.

Ryan is set to appear in at least five segs in the fall, reprising her role as human resources rep Holly Flax. Ryan's character first showed up in The Office's season finale as a potential love interest for Michael Scott (Steve Carell).

In the season-four ender, "Goodbye, Toby," Ryan's character replaced long-suffering HR staffer Toby Flenderson, played by Paul Lieberstein.

Is It Just Me?

It's hard to tell from this picture, but her hair is the same. No disrespect.

You Want to See Wanted

Angelina Jolie. Guns.

Are those reasons enough to see Wanted? Well, they were for me. But you also get a whole lot of stylistic violence and humor. It was awesome! I really loved it. The kind of crazy, over-the-top movie that just makes me smile. The action scenes made me giddy. I'm sitting there giggling like, OMFG, I did not just see that!

I definitely had more fun watching Wanted than watching The Incredible Hulk. The closest thing I can compare it to is Shoot 'Em Up in terms of tone and overall insanity.

Also? That James McAvoy kid? Going places. He's hysterical. I've been seeing him in a lot of interviews and I really like him, and he's great in this too. But, you know, with me it comes down to Angelina. And she kicks MAJOR ASS. Loved it!

My Favorite Show Has Been Canceled

NBC has “amicably resolved” a lawsuit filed by the sister of the late Louis Conradt, who committed suicide when confronted by the To Catch A Predator TV show.

According to Bruce Baron, attorney for Patricia Conradt, the suit has been resolved, with no further comment regarding the terms of the settlement.

NBC dropped the controversial series after a spate of negative publicity, and the loss of several key advertisers.

Funniest Thing in the World

Just had to share this great bit of office humor on my last day of work in an office.

I have never heard of The Whitest Kids You Know, but they are my new Favorite Thing in the World. I'm saving the rest of their videos for next week when I can spend a whole day watching.

Oh yeah - it's crude and maybe vulgar. Of course.

Bottom 3 was as it should be.

Chelsea and Thayne and Thayne's forehead.
Comfort and Chris and Chris's pale self.
Kourtni and Matt. Not that they were bad, but there has to be a bottom three, so it should have been them.

The guest performers tonight were my favorite kind. A crew of mostly Asians, plus there was Hok and Dominic! Excellent!

When Comfort was doing her solo I was (once again) screaming, "Get on the ground!" Why was she doing no ground work? Does her shoulder still bother her? Am I remembering her wrong? Maybe she's not so much of a B-girl. Chris's solo was the worst ever.

Bye bye:

Chelsea. That was a bit of a surprise, I figured they'd go with Comfort. I had thought Chelsea was so good at the beginning of the series, but she just never hit it in her performances. Maybe I just liked her body and her energy.

Chris. No surprise his howdy-doody ass is gone.

Now we have a new partnership for next week: Comfort and Thayne. Still a mis-match with those two. That's not gonna be pretty. Then again, sometimes those new partnerships surprise you. Let's hope!

SYTYCD Performances

1. Oh sh!t son, we're starting out the night with some hip hop. With Twitch (oh yeah, and Kherington, whatever)! And a Tabitha & Napoleon routine! With a Busta Rhymes song! Hells yes! Pretty awesome. I thought she was making some crazy faces, but of course I mostly just watched Twitch.

2. Rumba with Courtney and Gev. Lots of sexiness, and the routine looked really tough. And - hello - her dress on one side consisted of like a few strands of rhinestones or something. Holy crap, I was waiting for it to snap. Alas, no.

3. Jazz with Comfort and Chris. Set to classic Marilyn Manson. Excellent. Very, very cool routine and I thought they did well. No praise from the judges though. They're screwed.

4. Disco with Jessica and Will. Goddamn! Will has such an easy way about him, he is just a joy to watch. This time Jessica was good too, but mostly she's skating by based on Will being her partner.

5. Contemporary with Kourtni and Matt, and it's "their style" for both of them. It was a very cool, quirky routine - much more energy and speed than we usually see in Contemporary pieces. They're usually so slow and angst-ridden. Not this one!

6. The Quick-Step with Chelsea and Thayne. Thayne is so hard to look at, face-wise. He's an ugly Guy Pearce with that smile and that forehead. Ugh. Odd choice of song that seemed too slow for the choreography. It was dull for me. Boring. They're screwed too.

7. More Tabitha & Napoleon Hip Hop! Yay! This time with Chelsie and Mark. Pretty cool routine, not really typical hip hop. "Lyrical hip hop" I guess. Chelsie looks like a 12-year-old, she's so adorable. They were awesome.

8. Samba with Katee and Joshua. They were amazing. Mostly because Joshua is so freaking amazing!!!

I heart Twitch, Will, and Joshua SO MUCH!

Inappropriate Candy of the Week

First person to send me this candy gets my undying love and affection. It's all about the apostrophe placement, people.
Eight-year NASCAR NEXTEL Cup driver and former winner of the Daytona 500 Dale Earnhardt, Jr. introduced his new candy bar, Big Mo'.

The name Big Mo' is a play off of Earnhardt Jr.'s hometown of Mooresville, N.C., and the longtime moniker used for he and his closest friends, the Dirty Mo' Posse.

The milk chocolate candy bar will come in two flavors, creamy caramel and peanut butter. It is scheduled to hit stores nationwide in January 2008.
I fully support a Dirty Mo Posse.

Marriage Is About Compromise

I went to see Get Smart for love. And because I was bored. And because it was raining. And because the reviews weren't nearly as devastating as the reviews for The Love Guru.

The movie wasn't a waste of time. That's a compliment, right? I laughed a couple times, the action was pretty good. Masi Oka is funny and adorable. Wait for the rental, people.

Gun Pr0n of the Day

The only good part of The Incredible Hulk.

Some 24 Info

I hate when they make huge time jumps on 24. Like this article says, it puts the next season in 2014. Shouldn't there be flying cars or something?
Day 7 of 24 will take place four years after season 6. The significance of this probably won't be too huge, and will only make itself known in a couple of ways. Chloe's baby, which was in her belly at the end of season 6, will be three or four years old now, instead of a newborn. Also, the new president won't be as new as previously thought.

The accelerated timeline means that season 7 will take place a whopping thirteen years after the first season, meaning the date will be 2014 for season 7.

It will be two years into the new president's reign, but more importantly, it means that Jack Bauer is turning into an old man right before our eyes. If we are to assume that Bauer was roughly Kiefer Sutherland's age in season 1, the first time we saw Jack Bauer he was around 35 years old. In season 7, Bauer would then be 47 or 48 years old.

In addition to season 7, which will premiere in January of 2009, a two-hour season 7 prequel, set and shot primarily in South Africa, will air on November 23.

You know what I realized as I reflected on last night's show? (Yes, I reflect on the show from the previous night.) I didn't rewind one performance. Didn't re-watch anything. So that means last night was pretty mediocre, because I always re-watch one or two performances. While some were great, I guess none of them thrilled me.

I was totally fine with the Bottom Three Couples. Pretty damn accurate. And all I could think was SUSIE NEEDS TO GO SUSIE DOESN'T BELONG!!!! And that I was fine with any of those white dudes going home (yes, I include Marquis and his Spock ears), they are all pretty lame.

Oy Susie's solo was everything I thought it would be. Awful. Just a lot of hip shaking. Damn one-trick pony. I would have voted out Susie and Chris. At least the judges got it half right.

GET OUT OF MY LIFE SUSIE!!!!!!! YAAAAAAYYYYYYYY! Marquis got the boot too. I'm cool with that. Best part is, they were a couple so the couples stay the same next week.

Another Fat Bitch Gives Birth

May God have mercy on their souls.
Jamie Lynn Spears and her fiancé Casey Aldridge welcomed a baby girl Thursday morning. PEOPLE confirms exclusively that the baby was named Maddie Briann.

"Just the family was there," says a source about the birth around 9:30 a.m. at a hospital in Mississippi, near her Louisiana hometown. "Everyone is healthy and happy."

Over the last few months, Spears has kept busy by passing her GED exam, preparing the nursery and attending multiple baby showers.

Wait, they forgot to add "riding around on ATVs" because that's the only time I saw pictures of her.

SYTYCD Performances

1. Jazz. I Did. Not. Get. I didn't like the choreography. I kept waiting for it to pick up and kick my ass, but it didn't. The outfits were horrible, it was boring. Ugh.

2. Argentine Tango. Some pretty kickass footwork, and I don't know jack about footwork. I really like Chelsie, I don't like Mark.

3. Hip Hop. I love Will. He's like a perfect dancer technically. Like for reals.

4. Foxtrot. I just snored through it, it bored me. It was fine, just boring. Kourtni is this year's Fat Dancer.

5. Contemporary. It was gorgeous! I guess Courtney "jazzed it up too much," but I liked it that way.

6. Broadway. Very high-energy and entertaining. Joshua is SO good. Katee I can live without.

7. Salsa. I have never liked Susie, never thought she deserved to be there. I thought she looked sloppy, and this was supposed to be right up her alley. To me, she's just a stripper who shakes her ass constantly.

8. Viennese Waltz. Oh lord, Twitch doing the Viennese Waltz. I was scared. I was sure someone would cry over it, since it was dedicated to a handicapped kid, and Mia Michaels came close. Mary lost it a bit though! Win! I thought it was really pretty, and Twitch was great. He had to lift her a LOT.

9. Krump. I EFFING LOVE KRUMPING!!!!! But I hate when skinny-ass white boys do it. I just watched Comfort the whole time since it was more her thing.

Note to producers: When did you start moving the camera around so much during the performances? QUIT IT!

People Magazine is Blind, Retarded

People Magazine has named their Hottest Bachelors, and oh my God, I don't know where to begin with this list.

Gross gross gross.

#1 is Mario Lopez, which just - EEEEWWWWWWW! Then we have such "hotness" as some lame-asses from The Hills and Gossip Girl, David Cook and his sexy comb-forward, Britney Spears's brother, and Bret Michaels. Excuse me while I go puke my guts out.

I'll give you Gerard Butler, and Scarlett Johansson's brother's pretty fine. But DAMN!

When Bad Movies Happen to Good People

Note to self: when a movie has a 20% on Rotten Tomatoes, DO NOT SEE IT. Even if you really really want to.

Now, I like M. Night Shyamalan. Love him. I have enjoyed every single movie he put out, even though most people have been hating on him for years. I loved Lady in the Water, probably his most-hated film. Well, at least until The Happening. And now I can finally join in the hating.

This movie was beyond pointless. Completely bereft of point. "Shocking", "weird" things were complete non-sequiturs, just there to be "spooky". It wasn't even scary!!! It was nonsensical and poorly acted. Like really poorly acted. Mark Wahlberg is a good actor, right? He was freaking awesome in The Departed. In this? OMG, his delivery is so off.

There is no twist. There is no purpose. Nothing happens in The Happening. Boo. Color me disappointed.

Last Battlestar of 2008

*sigh* Another great season (mid-season, whatever) finale for Battlestar Galactica.

The Cylons hold Roslin and everyone else hostage but send Adama back to Galactica. The Cylons want the four undercover Cylons in exchange so they can get to Earth. Tory takes the bait and accompanies Xena back to the Cylon baseship. And becomes an uber-bitch as she enjoys being a big deal among the Cylons.

Adama plans a rescue mission, and if it fails, they are going to just destroy the baseship, and everyone on it. Tigh tries to convince Adama not to do the mission - and tells him he's a Cylon. Oh Lord that was a good scene. Adama just did not want to believe it. Poor guy. Girlfriend held hostage by the Cylons and now his BFF is one. He totally breaks down.

But Tigh is all, Look, threaten to kill me and maybe the Cylons will give in. Tigh also gives up Chief and Anders as the other Cylons still on the Galactica. So Adama threatens to throw them all out an airlock if they don't get the hostages.

Starbuck's Viper of Mystery is suddenly picking up a signal that she thinks is from Earth. They share this information with the Cylons and make a nice little truce. The Four are granted amnesty, and they all go to Earth together.

The fleet jumps to Earth. This is terribly exciting and there is much celebrating at its discovery. But things can't end happily right? Well, Earth is all frakked up and destroyed and desolate, and has probably been through a nuclear holocaust.

Sad horns.

Hulk Suck

So I gotta be honest here. I did NOT like The Incredible Hulk. I mean I sat through it, and it wasn't torture, but it wasn't money. And it was certainly no Iron Man.

I guess when it comes to superheroes, I prefer mine more realistic and human. I like the Tony Starks and the Bruce Waynes - the human guys who rely on technology. Not the Bruce Banners that turn into large animated characters. And in the end the Hulk is really just a cartoon.

I'm disappointed because I was hoping it would be good. It has Tim Roth, people! Tim Roth! Do you have any idea how long it's been since I saw him on the big screen? And, believe me, he's awesome, but he alone cannot save this film. And I love Ed Norton to death, but he seemed really uninterested. He's just becoming this mumbler of an actor. What's that, Ed? Speak up!

The film was also poorly edited. It seemed like scenes were either cut short or pieced together weird, or I was all, how the eff did we get there? Boo.

The two positive things: an appearance by said Tony Stark (too brief, but still there) and the sad Hulk music. The classic Sad Hulk music from the show. Excellent!

Unexpected Death of the Week

Tim Russert, NBC News’ Washington bureau chief and the moderator of Meet the Press, died Friday, NBC News said. He was 58.

No further details were immediately available.

Nooooo! Not Tim Russert!!!! What about Big Russ!!!!!! Noooooo!!!! My Sundays won't be the same without him in the background while I don't pay attention!

24: Just One Step Removed from Angelina

In his first series role in 40 years, Jon Voight has signed on for the upcoming seventh season of 24. Voight will play Jack Bauer's uber-nemesis who is pulling the strings behind next season's terrorist threat. The character will be introduced during 24's two-hour Season 7 prequel and will be featured heavily in the latter half of the season.

The prequel, now shooting on location in South Africa, is slated to air Nov. 23, with Season 7 of the Imagine TV/20th TV-produced series kicking off in January.

I was fine with the Bottom Three couples. Except for Will and his chick, it probably should have been the Disco couple instead.

Will's solo was amazing. All the others left me unimpressed.

Voted off: Rayven and Jamie. Is as it should be, bitch. It's a shame because she seems really talented, but Rayven's solo wasn't very strong. Their hip hop last night wasn't great. And Jamie's solo stunk.

McCain For President

Baloney & Cereal has announced their endorsement of John McCain for President. Solely due to this excerpt, from The Real McCain. Bonus points for the picture on the cover too. He just lurves Bush so much.
Three reporters from Arizona, on the condition of anonymity, also let me in on another incident involving McCain's intemperateness. In his 1992 Senate bid, McCain was joined on the campaign trail by his wife, Cindy, as well as campaign aide Doug Cole and consultant Wes Gullett. At one point, Cindy playfully twirled McCain's hair and said, "You're getting a little thin up there." McCain's face reddened, and he responded, "At least I don't plaster on the makeup like a trollop, you c*nt."

I love you, John McCain. You're right - that bitch wears too much makeup.

The Top Chef Finale

This was a pretty dull finale. Except for two things... Hey Padma - nice nipples!! Jesus, this chick and her outfits never cease to amaze me. She brought it all out for the finale.

Going in, I knew Stephanie was going to win because they want a woman to win. And our other options were Richard and Lisa.

Lisa was pissing me right off with her freaking laid-back confidence. Loved Richard's use of liquid nitrogen to make Tabasco ice cream and bacon ice cream. LOL, Richard! And then he rambled about how he choked and wasn't proud of his performance. Why can't these people just keep their mouths shut?! Rule No. 1 of Competition Shows: Never Admit Defeat.

Everybody's food seemed pretty underwhelming; nobody really wowed or dominated. Stephanie deserved to win I suppose. She was consistently good during the season, and her final meal was the best. First Female! Woo hoo! Oh who am I kidding? I hate chicks.

Daddy Tom's Compliment of the Night: "It was good. It was almost really good."

So You Think You Wear Pants

Two hours of the Most Entertaining Show on Television! Yay!

Why did it take me until this year to realize that Cat Deeley is cross-eyed? Her eyes are all kinds of wonky.

I already know I dislike Susie. I don't think she deserves to be there - I feel like she's a stripper and that's it. And Mark's too weird for me.

But I know I love Comfort and Twitch and Gev. And Chelsea, she has the sickest body. Her cha-cha routine was amazing. And Joshua. He's built like Ray Lewis. He got to do a hip-hop routine, which of course was sick since he's a hip hop dancer. That was the routine I rewound and watched again; even though Katee couldn't keep up with him and I don't like her whiny ass.

I was just wondering this weekend when the baby was coming. Now I know why they got married... so the baby could be born with Honor. Sorry, couldn't think of a better pun. Me no likey that name.
Jessica Alba and husband Cash Warren have welcomed a baby girl.

Honor Marie Warren was born June 7 in Los Angeles, her rep, Brad Cafarelli, confirms. This is the couple's first child.

Alba, 27, and Warren, 31, quietly wed on May 19 at the Beverly Hills courthouse.

Top Chef is Rigoddamndiculous

Oy. Lisa is in the Final Three. Life as we know it is over. Antonia was sent home.

But yay for Dale and Stephanie's teamwork. And Richard is awesome. It's gotta be either Stephanie or Richard to win it.

Boo to Lisa for still breathing. I think the producers kept her around just for the drama. She doesn't belong there.

Battlestar Galactica Without the Battlestar Galactica

We stayed on the Cylon ship this episode, except for some cool vision/dream sequences that Roslin was having. She saw herself dying, and Adama was at her bedside. I think that made her realize she loved him. Also it helped her realize she didn't want to kill Baltar. Baltar was injured, bleeding badly, and confessed that he was the one to give the Cylons the codes that led to humanity's destruction. Roslin got a little bitter over that and decided to let him bleed out. But one of the visions changed her mind and she ended up saving his life.

They pulled the Xena model off of the Resurrection ship and then destroyed the ship. So equal footing now - Cylons can die just like humans.

In the end, the Cylon ship jumps back and finds Adama in his ship, waiting for them. And Roslin and Adama tell each other they lurve each other. YAY for old love! They rule.

Next week, it looks like Tigh tells Adams he's a Cylon, and people might know about the other ones too. We shall see!
